There are several steps you can take to reduce
or eliminate smells from dogs frequently riding
in your vehicle
Arm & Hammer now makes “flow through”
baking soda containers that are unspillable.
Keeping 3 or 4 of these under your seats is
a great way to neutralize, rather than just
cover, dog odors.
Check with local car detail shops to see if
you can bring your car in for a shampoo only.
In some areas, car detailing is a occupational
therapy job for developmentally disabled people
and may have discounted rates. I get my suv
interior shampooed for $15 every other month
or so.
Covering the area where the dog sits can really
help, and cleaning the area is as simple as
washing the blanket.
If you really want to control the odor in your
car, you should treat your dog, not the car.
Make sure your dog is clean, on good food, and
use a naturally deodorizing supplement if needed.
