Most bears and dangerous wild animals will retreat if given warning rather than being startled by a face to face confrontation. Bear bells were traditionally used by dog owners to keep dogs safe when walking or working in the habitat of larger predators. We think they are also great for giving squirrels and rabbits advance warning, thus preventing dogs from giving chase and becoming lost. They're also great for locating an off leash dog in brush or tall grass.

This Bear Bell is made for the large breed dog (for smaller dogs, check out our smaller Jingle Bell Collar Charm), especially those dogs with a heavy coat where the bell needs some drop from the collar in order to sound clearly.

Available in buckle-on or snap-on for the same price. We suggest buckle-on if the bell will be left on (these can be useful in the home, particularly on puppies) or snap on if it will only go on for hiking.

Comments: Great bell! I bought one of each attachment type. Nice sound and carries well. Is a perfect size for my GSP. Could be too big for a small bog (smaller than Lab). Perfect for when my girl is running through the bush and heavy cover. Very strong and quality feel.

Comments: These are great! Nice weight NOT cheap. Clear and distinct sound. Great for hiking use, or while you are outdoors with your dog off-leash and want to monitor location. I chose the snap as that allows the bells to be quickly put on/taken off collar when needed. I will be buying another in the near future for our livestock guardian dog. Packing and shipping was perfect and prompt as usual!
